Pre-race routine:

Peanut butter and toast, Diet Pepsi, Apple juice.
Event warmup:

Walked around the start line and jogged up and down the road 3 times for about .5 miles. Felt warm and strong before the start.

Comments:

I felt much better during this race going up hill than I have in past races. The hills were long but I was much more better prepared for this than in the past.
What would you do differently?:

I still need to hit the hills more often and for longer durations.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around and streached for about 15 minutes and drank some water. Walked to the race awards area and had a scone and more water.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Still need to work on uphill running. I also wasn't able to go as fast downhill so I need to work on running downhill faster.

Event comments:

This was a fun early season race. Not a lot of runners and you just got out and ran. Not a lot of fluff just real basic.

I had all my race data but I lost it when I went on a training ride with my son after the race.
Course: The first 5k was all uphill similar to what I will be racing for the Race to Robie Creek. Felt strong on the first 2.75 miles but started to slow the last .25 miles and the last .5 was snow and ice covered roads a bit slick. At the turn around and started to go downhill I was ready to cruse. I did the fist 5k in 40:13 most mile averages were 13:00. The second half was much faster one mile I did it in 7:30 the fast mile I have done in a long long time.
