Comments: Just tried to pace self. Group of ten went out in front of me and they seemed to be going too fast so I stayed back and tried to settle into a good pace. It was hard to figure correct pace. I was a little tired early with some right calf pain. Arms were also tired from previous days swim, but that went away. Coming back I did get pretty fatigued but could have pushed myself harder. What would you do differently?: Finish up stronger a little earlier. I had mentally decided that I was going to finish fine and didn't need to push hard. It was the right decision but I prefer to think that I left it all out there. Post race
Warm down: Walked around for a bit and drank some water. What limited your ability to perform faster: I think speed/time was good cosidering only 7 weeks into training. Event comments: Race is just a running club getting together so it is very unorganized but with only 50 participants nothing more was needed. I really liked the small feel and informality. Did a very light jog to warm up. Did some light stretching focusing on calf.
