Swim
Comments: Swim was horrible. Water was too cold. No wetsuit. Got into water and immediately went into "dive shock." Breathing was very heavy and hard to even put face in water!! Got over it within first two minutes however the guy behind me had to go to the side because water was too cold. What would you do differently?: Need more training. Much more. And need a wetsuit!!!!!!!! Transition 1
Comments: Honestly didn't seem that long to me....but went well overall. I was just so happy to be out of that freezing water!! What would you do differently?: First T1 ever...would have gone much smoother if I hadn't screwed around trying to open up the cliff shot bloks. **NEXT time open the damn things before the race starts!!** Bike
Comments: Beautiful course so early in the morning. It was a great day and I took time to just look around and realize how lucky I was to even be able to do the tri. What would you do differently?: Drink more...bring fuel. Transition 2
Comments: Legs very shaky....dehydrated. A bit discouraged at this point. Legs were numb had to jump around a bit to get the blood flowing. What would you do differently?: Go faster! Run
Comments: Run was disappointing as well. Took me a good 1/2 mile to get my legs back. Hips hurt tremendously. What would you do differently?: More training from bike to run. Post race
Warm down: Drank some water walked around. What limited your ability to perform faster: Endurance. And I think that 64 degree water zapped my energy right off the bat! Event comments: I'll be participating again next year...but with a wetsuit for sure! Last updated: 2007-02-27 12:00 AM

First tri, very nervous. Little sleep....not very confident in myself. Ate pb and drove over to the check in. Realized I forgot my helmet and freaked out. Raced back home (thankfully I live in town tri was in) and got back as quick as I could.
Didn't know how to set bike on rack and felt like a complete idiot. Set up the transition area and tried to calm dowm!
None...too nervous.
