Run
Comments: Very fun race! First mile was slow, and progressively sped up over the course. This was a training run and the up/down hill was a great workout for boston. My heart rate was pretty high, but it didn't seem to affect my performancd. I tried to hold myself back and no run to hard, but after passing the 6 mile mark turning the corner and seeing the finish line, it was time to pick it up, and take a few more races...so strong .2 mile finish line sprint! What would you do differently?: Get closer to the starting line at the beginning. Actually race the race. Make the race a long weekend instead of an overnight. Post race
Warm down: 1.5 mile cooldown run, stretching, and some good post race food. What limited your ability to perform faster: Too many people. The first mile was ducking, weaving, jumping through holes. The rest of the race was passing people. Although it was a training race...not pushing to the front of the corral was the worst decision of the day. Event comments: 30th Anniversary of the race, Second year with the new bridge. Last updated: 2007-03-01 12:00 AM

Run from downtown charleston to the start of the race (6+ miles)....Lgistically this was not a good idea due to the start and the course to the starting line. Therefore we took the busses to the start and did a 3.5+ mile warm-up from the starting area.
