Total Time = 1h 44m 7s
Overall Rank = 60/84
Age Group = 25 - 29 Male
Age Group Rank = 10/10
Pre-race routine:

5:30am alarm... Got stirring and had 2 pieces of toast and a banana for breakfast. Loaded bikes onto jeep and gathered all necessary equipment.
Event warmup:

Very limited cycling but enough to stir the legs... Ran around 1/2 mile and did some stretching to loosen the body.
Run
  • 14m 10s
  • 2 miles
  • 07m 05s  min/mile
Comments:

Great first run I thought I had good turn over and was consistent with stride and pace... No ranks because no split times taken
What would you do differently?:

Try and get a little more toward front to make much less weaving on the first mile of the run course...
Transition 1
  • 00m
Comments:

Good transition for me... Was very good observation to wear bike jersey on the run and put cycling gloves in back pockets of jersey. Was able to have gloves on before entering transition area. Helmet on first then sunglasses. Then to the shoes and it went pretty fast but not just exceptional... Had to walk the bike out of the transition area but this did not make a big difference in the small sized transition area...
Bike
  • 1h 13m
  • 20 miles
  • 16.44 mile/hr
Comments:

Have no age group rank because all splits were not calculated
What would you do differently?:

TRAINING TRAINING TRAINING ON THE BIKE...
Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

Not bad transition but not as quick as the T1. I was concentrating on getting a little stretching in while I was getting the shoes on and ready to run.
What would you do differently?:

Should not have worried about taking off bike gloves until after starting run but it did not affect time to bad...
Run
  • 17m
  • 2 miles
  • 08m 30s  min/mile
Comments:

Was a bit sluggish on the first 3/4 mile of second run and legs felt dead. But was able to finish with better effort as legs started to loosen.
What would you do differently?:

more brick training to acustom legs to the transition.
Post race
Warm down:

walking and hydrating

What limited your ability to perform faster:

More bike training... remember next time to wear race belt even on duathlon so that I can change where my race number is located and it will not annoy me so much...

Event comments:

Happy with the setup and overall running of the race. I hope it goes this well next year because, my triathlon club takes over the responsibility of organizing and running the race. But we have to commend the Druid City Bicycle Club for the ten years of making the Partlow Duathlon what it is...
