Pre-race routine:

had my normal bowl of oatmeal, and grabbed a shot of Hammer Gel too, just before the race.
Event warmup:

ran back to the car to drop off t-shirts, then jogged back to starting line.

Comments:

started WAY TOO far back in the pack. it took me a while to just cross the start line, which added about a minute to my time, so i've compensated for that here, based on my garmin.
the entire first 2 miles were packed with people much slower than me, so it definitely cost me some time picking my way through the crowd. still, each mile was about 7min.
What would you do differently?:

i can't say i would train more because i wouldn't. my knee won't let me. ITB rears it's ugly head on every single run, so i only run once a week or so.
Post race
Warm down:

grabbed a beer and stretched, then jogged a mile to cool down, and added some more stretching.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

my HR and lung capacity. i was maxed out the whole tim. i didn't know i had that in me. it was 175-182 for the last 3 miles.

Event comments:

i wish they would have some more music on the course, and some food at the end. i didn't have any cash on me, so there was no way for me to buy a $6.50 hotdog. :)
