Swim
Comments: I did really well in staying out of the crowd. What would you do differently?: I need more time with open water swimming. With all the excitement and adrenalin it was difficult to control my breathing. This will come with time. Transition 1
Comments: Difficult to get socks on wet feet. T1 also took longer since I was wearing a wetsuit. Transition area was very tight. What would you do differently?: Consider biking without socks so my feet have a chance to dry. Bike
Comments: Legs felt really weird after the swim so I took 5-10 minutes of spin time to get the blood flowing. The bike leg felt slow, but my average mph was right on. What would you do differently?: More time in the saddle will get me more comfortable on the long bikes. Transition 2
Comments: Person on the other side of the rack racked improperly on returning so I had to move their bike in order to get mine in. What would you do differently?: Improve swim and bike speeds so I don't have to rack after others. Run
Comments: I walked most of this leg. Not bad since I only started running 2 months ago. After mile 2 I got a really bad cramp in my left quad. Had to stop a few times to stretch it out. What would you do differently?: More track workouts and time running. This will come with time. Post race
Warm down: Walk and drink plently of fluids. What limited your ability to perform faster: Experience. This was my first tri. Event comments: This race was very organized. Will definately do this one again. I was amazed at how many people never completed the race, 180 out of 850. I feel much better knowing that I simply completed the race! walk from Gena's house with other racers. Setup transition area and did a walk through. I ran for about 5-10 minutes to warm up then completed the transition setup. Did some stretching and then got in the water to get my face in.
