Pre-race routine:

Very early start as I had to get to the race but did not have an idea where it was. Usual breakfast cereal and banana, packed another banana for just before the race. I got lost after 5 minutes but then managed to find my way there, couple of adrenalin peaks before the race I could have done without.
Event warmup:

No warm up just tried to stay warm on the beach, I only wore Tri shorts for the swim, it was windy and dark on the beach. Huddled behind some people and watched the waves leave to pick my line for the swim.

This event was not championchip timed so the time includes T1, I swam really well I think. It was lovely to swim in the ocean and once past the surf I settled in well. Glad I did not wear a suit.

This was were the wheels fell off or better said blew up. This run was very bad, the course was terrible and my performance was very poor. I was heading for a sub 2:25 finish but blew it here.
What would you do differently?:

Don't know, I cramped for the first 2 miles.

the run was terrible, I was cramping in my stomach, I was hot and I think the jet lag caught up to me.

The hilly run with the beach sand was not for me.

Course: nice course, fairly flat, wind was not really and issue except on a short stretch of road. Two lap loop. One mega hill (wall) just before the transition zone.
