Swim
Comments: First 200yds (or so) of the swim was tough - caught a couple of face/mouth fulls of water. Finally got to lee side of the island and caught a really nice current. While I did not stay with my age group pack, it was a much better swim than I anticipated. Still need to work more on my swim, really could move my self up in the pack with a better swim What would you do differently?: Swim Stronger, Swim Faster! Transition 1
Comments: Would have been much faster here if I had not taken the time to put my socks on...but my feet were just soooooo damn cold. Next year (and there will definitely be a next year) if it is this cold, I will have toe warms on the bike shoes before I start! What would you do differently?: Toe warmers/covers already on bike shoes. Have tri shoes and learn the flying mount/dismount from Eric and/or Tommy! Bike
Comments: Drank too much salt water on the swim, had a hard time drinking on the bike! Still did not go hard enough since I list race pace as comfortable! What would you do differently?: Go harder, keep a avg pace of 20mph Transition 2
Comments: Not much I could have done better other than a flying dismount...really cooked through t2. Did I mention that Transition was HUGE!!!! What would you do differently?: Flying dismount next year! Better marking of my/our rack! Run
Comments: Loved it...having my boys and parents at about mile 2 to cheer me on was great. What would you do differently?: Nothing...well, if I could throw down a 6min/mile for 3miles...that would be better... Post race
Warm down: Talking, drinking coffee, 1 mile+ ride home What limited your ability to perform faster: ME. Event comments: LOVE THIS RACE!!! Loved writing my race report on the third story deck watching the moon rise (and finishing it up there while everyone caught an afternoon nap...man I could adapt to the beach life!)
