Bike
Comments: Harder pacing this one, probably could have gone out stronger with the wind. Legs felt really fatigued on this one after racing the 5K. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Post race
Warm down: Light pedaling, then loaded bike and got awards. What limited your ability to perform faster: Excuses in order of effect on speed: * Wind, 22mph with gusts, headwind on the way back * Bad, narrow road * No speed-specific training for over six months * Rode 200 miles this week so I raced on tired legs * Still not in peak condition, carrying 10 extra pounds. Event comments: Small but competitive race, of the ten competitors, seven had better bikes and equipment than mine, a few P3C and othe carbon gems. These geezers take their racing seriously. Was funny being the youngest there. Part of the Senior Olympic Games, state competition is in October, these times would have qualified me for nationals. Last updated: 2007-03-20 12:00 AM

Coffee, bagel, shower, shave, dress, drive to venue, small community on the Vermilion south of Lafayette called Milton. Checked in, pinned my numbers, unloaded bike, filled water bottles, and went to warm-up.
Little over five miles with several spins at harder efforts, then raced the 5K. Pedaled around for fifteen minutes after the 5K while waiting for the 10K to start.
