Run
Comments: Time posted is the adjusted time posted in the results since course was long. Never knew they did that...at least they recognized the course was off. Overall rank is male only. Plan was to do first 3mi @ ~7:30, miles 4-10 @ ~7:20 and then pick it up for the final 5K. Ran with weds19 to whole time...basically he was my personal pacer. I believe most of the extra distance was in miles 1 and 13. Wasn't quite able to hold the planned pace, but was able to stay fairly close...w/in 10s/mile. Temp was around 50 overcast with an occassional drizzle. Not fun for standing around, but pretty ideal for running. Post race
Warm down: Walked for a bit, but left knee/itb was too sore to run. It began to hurt as soon as I stopped running. Got a ART massage. The therapist wasn't that good...then again there were 4 therapists and a line of 10+. What limited your ability to perform faster: If I would have done run-only training or a taper I am sure my time could have been better, but given my multisport race schedule and the priority of this race (a C race that I decided to do 3-days beforehand), I don't think I could have done a heckuva lot better. I am pleased with the result. Event comments: Although it didn't effect me, there really weren't many port-o-potties on the course. They had plenty at the start/finish area, which was nice. Post race food was blah...just bagels and bananas..that's it. Post race activities were not great, but it was probably dampered by the cool air and cold misty rain. Last updated: 2007-03-22 12:00 AM
