Run
Comments: Didn't feel good for the first 5 miles or so. All week my legs felt dead--probably too much hard and long cycling. But I started to feel better at mile 6 or so. What would you do differently?: I should have tapered better and then started harder. I had too much left at the end. It was nice to feel stonger as the race progressed, but I could have had a bit better time--my last mile was my fastest by quite a bit. Post race
Warm down: Walking around park and back to hotel. What limited your ability to perform faster: It was humid and I didn't feel good until well until the race. The first 5 miles felt harder than the last 5! I was afraid of bonking hard and suffering at the end. This is the first race in a while that I didn't feel terrible during a big part of it. Event comments: I don't know what happened with the timing. My GPS deal got to 13.11 miles in 1:32:40. I'm pretty sure that my timer said 1:32:45 when I crossed the line, but I mis-hit the stop button. But when I did stop it for good well after the finish it was still at 1:33 something. But they somehow had me at 1:33:36. In any case, I did slightly better than last year. But I could have done better--I had a little too much left at the end. Last updated: 2007-03-23 12:00 AM
