Swim
Comments: I felt like I had a bad swim. I kept getting off course and just never felt good about how I was doing. My rank was the same as my bike and I felt good about my bike so maybe I don't know what I'm talking about. What would you do differently?: I need to get some clear goggles for overcast days. I also need to do more sight breaths. Transition 1
Comments: I have toe clip peddles so this is the big transition time for me. I put on biking socks this race and it worked out better than no socks. My shoes were already tied and the socks helped my feet slide in. Bike
Comments: I felt like I am doing best on the bike. I have only put a little over 200 miles on this road bike and it is the only one I have ever rode.(Tons of miles on Mtn Bike) I bought aero-bars and this race was the 3rd ride with them for me, but I could tell the difference. What would you do differently?: I got into a passing back and forth battle with a 20 year old for about 5 minutes. Finally I put the hammer down and left him. I should have done that after the first time he repassed me. Transition 2
Comments: Already had running shoes on so it was a rack bike and take off helmet transition for me. Run
Comments: I run like a former offensive lineman with 3 knee surgeries. Oh yea thats what I am. I cut some time off my Langley Pond run and had an actual kick at the end. I just need to run faster (sounds easy). Post race
Warm down: Stretched and walked around the paved circle. The ride back home tightened me up real bad. What limited your ability to perform faster: I camped at the site the night before and the Esso Club was rocking. I guess that is payback for all the late nights I spent there as a student. Even though I only slept 4 hours, I felt pretty good the morning of the race. Event comments: I think I like doing triathlons. I have always played sports that I could physically slow or change the way my opponents played to give me an advantage, but this is all on me. The first 2 races I did I finished in the 59% and this one I was 56% so I guess I'm getting better. There were some strong Clydesdales at this race so I'm assuming that the level of most of the racers were a little higher on this one. I looked for but didn't see anybody that post on this web site. Hopefully I'll see some of you at Lake Murray. Last updated: 2007-03-23 12:00 AM
