Pre-race routine:

Routine?? This was my first triathlon; nothing routine about it!

Had a banana, a Cliff Bar and some watered down OJ. Got there early enough to score an end spot on the rack.
Event warmup:

Ran a bit to loosen up. Swam a lap; seemed the popular thing to do.

Trotted around a bit. Stretched.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Can't swim.

Lack of tri-shoes; speed laces.

First triathlon; ignorant as all get out.

Event comments:

Brought home a third-place medal. Not too bad for my very first tri.

Once Boston is behind me, I can finally focus on bike and serious speedwork.

Looking forward to Iceman and beyond.
