Pre-race routine:

Just another day. Wake up at 4:15 am make breakfast of a two fried egg and cheese sandwich and a cup of coffee.

no real warm up. Just jump in and swim.

Comments:

My first open water swim EVER. I really freaked out the first 200 yards. I was having a difficult time breathing, I was swallowing lots of water, and I generally just started to panic. Once I touched the bottom with my foot, I realized I was fine and the rest of the swim went well.
What would you do differently?:

I will practice the open water swim more, and I will start further to the outside so that other competitors' wakes do not affect my breathing at the start.
