Pre-race routine:

Rested and made sure I was well hydrated the day before then didn't drink too much on the morning of the race.

Comments:

Pleased with the run. Was aiming to do 6:05 min/miles and I reckon I was reasonably consistent (although I think the mile markers weren't accurate enough). Felt like I gave it pretty much all that I had.
What would you do differently?:

Core muscles, particularly abs and lower back were getting very tired towards the end so I think I need to do some more core strengthening work. Other than that I think my race day tactics were pretty much spot on.

Event comments:

Pretty well organised race given that there were 10,000 or so runners. Start was about 10 mins late. Fast, flat course is good for PBs. Plenty of water stations, lots of supporters and loads of live bands along the route. Great finish in the Madejski stadium.

Very happy with my new sub-1:20 half marathon PB! Looking good for London marathon in 4 weeks time.
