Run
Comments: I found Julie from TNT and we decided to stick together since we pretty much run the same pace. Our goal was to come in under 50 minutes. The first mile was just one big herd and it was hard to break out of it. The positive side of that is it kept me from starting out too fast! I thought the crowd would thin out by mile 3 but it NEVER did. I got lots of practice learning how to maneuver through the masses. Mile 1 10:39 Mile 2 9:25 Mile 3 9:34 Mile 4 9:54 Mile 5 9:54 1916/4460 Overall 751/2513 Female 15/116 Female 55-59 What would you do differently?: Wear a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen. Post race
Warm down: Heh heh. You guys know I don't do warm-downs. Bad bad Becky. The chute at the finish line was completely bottlenecked and I felt like I was going to die before I finally got to the water station but, of course, I survived. Banana and bagel. Starbucks on the way home. What limited your ability to perform faster: I was a little tired this morning and I really wanted to wimp out on this run. But the truth is I will be probably be tired after the swim/bike part of the tri so it was good practice for me. The BT mantra "Suck it up Buttercup" kept nagging at me! Event comments: This sure makes me nervous for the Olympic distance tri I signed up for in August ... hmmm ... lots of training needs to happen before that little event. I love Denver because it's got so many cool activities like this for families. This was the 25th Anniversary of the Cherry Creek Sneak but the first time I've participated. Yeah. I was a little on the lazy side until last year. The event was well run with plenty of aid stations, police on site, volunteers, food, live bands, lots of parking, and people cheering along the whole route. Last updated: 2007-03-29 12:00 AM

An early morning rise and shine. Shower. I broke from the traditional oatmeal/banana breakast and had a bagel with peanut butter today. Note to Jeff ... it worked!
I got to the race site early so I could cheer for the 5K runners. Val (valtoast) did awesome. Also got to watch the half-pints do their Fun Run. I looked for Sara (snowgirl) with her daughter Brynnan and I think I spotted them based on that little teeny avatar picture but I'm not sure. Sara, if you're reading this, did Brynnan have a pony tail and were you in a white or maybe pink cap? I hope it was you because I was cheering on the sideline for that Mom/Daughter team!
