Transition 1
Comments: I put on a shirt with my bib attached - it was only 55 degrees! Transition went well. No issues. Bike
Comments: I didn't keep my cadence up where I think it should have been, but don't have a computer to know for sure. What would you do differently?: Get a computer! Transition 2
Comments: The grass in the transition area was wet, so trying to keep my feet dry while changing shoes was a challenge. I didn't get enough to drink on the bike, so I took a drink before taking off on the run. I couldn't feel my lower body at all for the first 1/2 mile. What would you do differently?: Probably get some easy laces that didn't require tying. Need to make sure to drink more on the bike leg. Took time to blow my nose, but didn't take any tissue for the run - would probably take some next time. Run
Comments: This was my weakest leg - my average mileage was disappointing, and I could not keep up with my training partner - she left me into the first 1/2 mile and finished two minutes ahead of me (we left T2 together). I decided not to push myself very hard as my hr was in the upper 180s, which is too high. What would you do differently?: Drink more water before the run. Post race
Warm down: I walked around to catch my breath - no other warm down to speak of. It was cold with the wind and I was still wet, so that was uncomfortable. I put on a jacket to help, but we were still very chilled. What limited your ability to perform faster: I lost energy on the run - my hr was very high at the end of the race. I think my training is weak on the running, and I need to pick up more speed on the bike. My nose was running uncontrollably, and I could not breathe as well as possible due to that. I also did not want to interrupt breathing in order to drink/eat because of the runny nose. Event comments: This was my first triathlon, so will always be special to me. I appreciated the volunteers, but thought the course needed to be marked better and because there were other people (not related to the race) on the college campus where it was held, that was a distraction and took away from the race event. I'd do this race again. Dude, I'm a TRIATHLETE!!!! Last updated: 2007-04-06 12:00 AM

got up at 6am for a 10 am start - ate a banana and a clif bar, drank two bottles of water and a cappucino. Got to race at 8am, set up transition and checked out the pool. Listened to iPod and got pumped up!!
We biked around the course once (about a 2 mile loop). After attending the pre-race meeting, we jogged for about 10 minutes. Before our swim heat, we swam some laps - about 4 minutes.
