Run
Comments: I was gasping for air and limping by mile 2, so it wasn't a good run. The course was fun, though, and I enjoyed just going slowly and looking at the crazy spectators. Someone was even handing out hot dogs! What would you do differently?: Not party the night before. Sleep more! I had a rough week at work and I really needed to take a day off and just chill out and get some stuff done, but instead I biked and ran the day before the race. I was also injured and made the last minute decision to run because my knee was feeling better. I think I should've given it more time! For an impromptu race, though, I still had fun even if I got my worst 10K time ever. Post race
Warm down: I don't think "warm" is the right word...it was so cold and windy and I had only brought shorts and a t-shirt. My friend's husband grabbed a trash bag for me to wear and it helped block most of the wind. I'll have to remember that tip later! What limited your ability to perform faster: Exhaustion...I was just drained from the week and from a late night out (1130 is late for me!). I knew I wasn't in it for a personal record, though. Event comments: The race was great and New Orleans is still an exciting town to run in! Last updated: 2007-04-07 12:00 AM
