Run
Comments: this was really a training run for me, as I had not had a run longer than 8 miles in the past 2 months and I just got back from 3 weeks in New Zealand with minimal training there Maria was also doing a long training run in prep for a marathon in 3 weeks so we ran together, easy 11:20 - 11:30 per mile pace and we chatted the whole way, at about mile 4 1/2 we saw the rac leaders on the way back, with an out an back course we were pretty much able to see all of our friends, it strated raining a bit in the middle of the race, but not too bad, it was a bit chilly, at mile 10 we were coming up on the 2:30 pace group and decided we wanted to beat them so we picked up the pace, despite major calf cramps at mile 12 we were able to stay in front of the group for a solid finish What would you do differently?: nothing; this was purely for fun, nice inaugural race and fun to run with a friend Post race
Warm down: got some warm clothes on, went back to see some friends, get some beer and food, watch the awards What limited your ability to perform faster: lack of training :) Event comments: I really enjoyed this race and will probably do it again, I was worried that the course would feel crowded with it being on an old 2 lane road, but it was fine, parking for the race was a bit slow, but we got to the race and parked in pleanty of time, I thought they did a good job with this race Last updated: 2007-04-10 12:00 AM
