Swim
Comments: Good swim for me. Kept the crawl for longer period of time then ever before. Only switched to breast 3x tho the 3rd time was for awhile. Siting better then before, breathing better then before, but still get caught up in making noise on the exhale. Kept eyes open mostly and didn't get dizzy at all. Getting stronger! What would you do differently?: Keep at the crawl longer as i'm still faster with it. Transition 1
Comments: Bike shoes w/o sox, but didn't preclip shoes on bike as that was a problem last race. May try the rubberbands next time. Full suit off OK. What would you do differently?: Nothing Bike
Comments: Little bike traffic. Dropped my sportdrink on the way out and panicked cuz I was already cramping in the calf. Yelled for someone to pick up and stopped to get it on lap 2. There's my 31 sec. off the medal! UGHGHGHGH. Noticed again the lactic threshold (I think) with the initial quad burn which then goes away. What would you do differently?: stretch more, push harder, get 2nd cage on bike bike with sox (see run comments below) Transition 2
Comments: Good transition. Stop worrying about my hair :) What would you do differently?: Work on jump on/off bike Run
Comments: Noticed my feet felt part numb - weird - made me hold back for fear of whatever. Think it's from biking w/o sox. Didn't feel as stiff overall as Desert Springs, was mentally ready for it and worked out shoulder tightness. Really felt the 2.5 wks off prior to race as far as HR, but No shin pain! What would you do differently?: push harder, though I passed many. Work on ways to loosen up quicker off the bike if possible. Post race
Warm down: not much, slight chill. The kids and Jennifer were there! My daughter is very excited cuz she saw kids and now she wants to Tri too! Event comments: Well orgainzed Last updated: 2007-04-11 12:00 AM

took 2.5 wks off immediately prior to race due to shin splints. In hindsight would handle that differently, running lightly and on grass instead and keeping up biking/swimming.
stay warm - no stretching - make sure bike is in light gear to get out of transition.
