Run
Comments: First long race of my life. I think I started to far to the rear of the pack. Passed a lot of people the first mile or two which was difficult with so many people. Felt like I kept a good pace for the first 10K. 10K time was 58:48. Not blazing but nice. Found my family between mile five and six. Daughter gave me a high five as I went by. Race started to get a little rough for me around mile 10. Was happy I ran the whole event except for the drink station at mile 12. Walked about 20 feet to get all the gatorade in to make a push at the end. Legs were really tired by this time and just didn't have any extra at the end. Found my family at the finish and ran across the finish line with my son and daughter. Was happy to complete my first half mary with a smile on my face. What would you do differently?: Put more miles in. Not enough training for this distance of race. Practice on more hills, the trail I usually run on is pretty flat. Post race
Warm down: Got medal, t-shirt and some drinks. Walked around with family and tried to dry off. What limited your ability to perform faster: Training Event comments: Well organized. Nice gifts (two shirts, medal, certificate and meal) Last updated: 2007-04-12 12:00 AM

Had toast and water while I waited for Jeremy. Rode to Lincoln with Jeremy and prayed it would quit raining.
Walked to the start line in the rain. Went into The Coliseum to stretch.
