Swim
Comments: Started at the back and out to the right. Thought I should let the real swimmers get a good jump on me and I'd just stay out of their way. Mistake. While I'm not a strong swimmer by any means, I found out that I'm stronger than a good number of people that showed up for this event. Trying to swim around them time and time again, I ended up doing too much breast stroke. Somwhow my swim time was fine for me though. What would you do differently?: Need more mass swim start practice, not that I would know what to do differently. Transition 1
Comments: About what I expected. Bike
Comments: A good ride for me. Slow for this race. But I'll take it, was only hoping for 52 minutes, so 47+ was great by me. Transition 2
Comments: Quick. Hmmm. Didn't realize I could tie my shoes so fast. Run
Comments: A little slow, but again, I'll take it. Was hoping to go sub 30 minutes, but it just didn't happen. BUT, I did manage to give my wife a kiss during the run, and that must have cost me at least 3 seconds. Post race
Warm down: Walked around. Got a beer (yes, at 9:15am!). But only one. Event comments: An amazing race, well put together, and a lot of fun. Beautiful park, beautiful course. Looking forward to next year already. Last updated: 2007-04-13 12:00 AM

Woke up at 4am, couldn't get back to sleep. Drank some water, ate a power bar. Drank some more water.
Mostly just walked around, trying to forget that I was about to go for a swim in a giant lake.
