Pre-race routine:

After waking up, put on my warmers, drank a half-cup of water and met friend 15 mins later to drive to the race start.
Event warmup:

Very light jog, light stretching, use restroom to empty bladder for the race.

Comments:

Probably my most enjoyable race thus far. The first 10 miles of the course was flat and easy. The last 3 miles were brutal with all the hills. Regardless, I was surprised that I pushed about a 6:3x pace to finish the last 3 miles. I had been sick and been running low mileage because of the weather, so I didn't anticipate on setting a new PR. Maybe my body appreciated that time off.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing. I can always say I wish I had run the first 10 miles at a slightly faster pace for a faster finish, but I much rather enjoyed the company. After my last half, I had intended on running the first 3 miles easy and running the rest at slight faster than goal pace, but that was before I got sick.
Post race
Warm down:

Walking, stretching, ate an apple and half a bagel.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Can't think of anything. Maybe lack of overall training? My legs felt heavy after about mile 5, but nothing that I hadn't experienced before.

Event comments:

Coming into the race, I wasn't even sure if I could help my friend do a 1:37 pace, but I was going to try my darndest to get there. Except for 3 hard miles to finish, I was surprised at how easy the run felt. I thought the weather was also perfect with a little bit of a breeze. I think the one thing I'll take away from this race is the distance miscalculations I had in the park, and the seemingly severe uphill finish.

No solid quantifiable data since I didn't run with a watch. Went by the clocks on the mile markers. I remember first mile was about 8 mins. Miles 2-10 ranged from about 7:15 to 7:30 / mile. Mile 10 to the finish was as fast as I could go, but I remember the m10 clock reading 1:15:xx, and I finished at about 1:35:41 clock time. The first 10 miles were really comfortable as I ran with a friend. We didn't talk much, but it wasn't uncomfortable when we did. We just wanted to get her to finish below 1:37:00 to qualify for the NYC marathon. She finished at 1:37:00 clock time.
