Pre-race routine:

Woke up about 2 and 1/2 hours before the race. Ate 2 oatmeal bars and a special K bar. Breakfast calorie total around 540.
Event warmup:

Only warm up was 5 minute swim. Followed by lots of streching and jumping around.
Swim
  • 34m 51s
  • 2112 yards
  • 01m 39s / 100 yards
Comments:

I was happy with my sighting. I felt like I only got off course once. Also, the wetsuit was a great help my goal time was 38 minutes.
What would you do differently?:

I would like to start a little quicker then settle into my pace. I think a lot of folks passed me the beginning and I caught back up to them later.
Transition 1
  • 00m
Comments:

Long run from the water to the transition area. I pushed the last minute of the swim and I think that wore me out so I moved pretty slow to the TA.
What would you do differently?:

I would finish the swim at a good pace and run to the TA.
Bike
  • 3h 05m 10s
  • 56 miles
  • 18.15 mile/hr
Comments:

The course was fast I think the wind picked up and my energy kicked down on the second lap. I wanted to be a little faster maybe around an 18.5 avg.
What would you do differently?:

I think I would train more for this ride. I felt great on my first lap and my endurance was gone for the second.
Transition 2
  • 02m 5s
Comments:

This transition seemed to go pretty fast. Actual changing went really well.
What would you do differently?:

I would run more with the bike. I tend to rest in the TA.
Run
  • 2h 58m 16s
  • 13.1 miles
  • 13m 37s  min/mile
Comments:

I was out of energy for the run. I would like to not be cramping on the run.
What would you do differently?:

Don't know.
Post race
Warm down:

No real warm down. I walked the last mile of the race I think that should count as warm down.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

CRAMPING. I plan to do some internet research today. I ate like crazy on the bike so I am guessing muscular endurance is problem.

Event comments:

The race was great. There were volunteers every where. The downtown setting makes the start/finish area a little crowded. I like the big open parks.
