Pre-race routine:

2 naps yesterday caused me to stay up late last night. Didn't get to bed until 1am. 6am wake up came early. Showered then normal morning craziness at our house. 1/2 small bagel and water.
Event warmup:

Light stretching and a little running. I did not feel fresh like Summer's Eve. No doubt the swim and bike I did yesterday did not help.

Comments:

Wanted to run negative splits but that didn't happen. What the heck is up with mile 4? Must have started day dreaming or something.

I wanted to run 48 or better so I'm a little dissapointed with my time. Some days you are the bug and some days you are with windsheild. 48 or better today was not meant to be.
What would you do differently?:

D'uh - I would run 48 or better! What kind of a question is this?

Seriously, if I took this race serious, I would seriously think about some serious rest the day before. Seriously!

Warm down:

Water. Found Capt No Fun and College Funds #1 and #2. We left before the awards ceremony. I didn't see an award for slow white boy so I think I'm good.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Need more base training. I've limited my running to 20 miles per week so that I don't burn myself out before I have to start uping the distance for marathon training (training starts July 1). I need to find a late season 10k after the marathon to see some real progress.

Event comments:

Great course and great support. Price is great but who doesn't use timing chips now days? That would probably raise the price so I guess I'm ok with that. Plenty of parking. Didn't see any bathrooms but the movie theater was open and I saw people going in a out.
