Run
Comments: There were few thousand participants so it took a while to get to the start line. As a novice in that kind of thing I started too fast for my ability and naturally somewhere around the 5 km mark started getting tired, slowed down, drank some water and off I went again. The last 2 km were really hard, it was getting really hot (or so it seemed...). Then the entry to the stadium - I felt like an Olympian, sped up, past several other runners and practically collapsed after the finish line. It was my first long distance race and given my recreacional approach to the sport I was proud of myself. What would you do differently?: 1. I would have brought some water to hydrate before the run. 2. I would have started slower. Post race
Warm down: Walking for about 10 minutes and some stretching. What limited your ability to perform faster: Not enough training, concentrating only on the distance and not speed. Event comments: I was a bit disapointed with the after the race scene - I was kind of anticlimactic - I was expecting at least a band playing but all I saw was volunteers (thank God for those) distributing drinks and food. Not much other than showing up at the start line...
10 min of stretching, the weather was kind of hot and didn't inspire anyone to jog etc.
