Pre-race routine:

Woke up at 5:45am but only get out of bed at 6am. Had a cup of Chocolate milk and a banana. Had a bath, get ready and drive down to event venue. When I reach town, I had a stomach ache. Since it was in CBD area, most of the toilets to buildings are not open. I had to walk quite far to finally find one at UOB Plaza.

Cycled to venue (at Marina Boulevard) from car park at Golden Shoe Car park which is about 5mins away. After locating the transition point and set up all my stuff, I had one power gel before I walk to the run start point.
Event warmup:

Did some leg stretching.
Run
  • 59m 11s
  • 10 kms
  • 05m 55s  min/km
Comments:

Overall it was a slow run cos I have not been doing much running lately. Just wanted to make sure that I was able to maintain a good speed for some energy during the bike leg later.
What would you do differently?:

Do more run training way before the race and not last minute prep.
Transition 1
  • 03m 30s
Comments:

It was a good transition. Was able to do everything smoothly and calmly before starting the bike leg.
Bike
  • 1h 27m 52s
  • 40 kms
  • 27.31 km/hr
Comments:

I was using 3rd gear almost throughout the race. It felt good while riding. I passed quite a number of people during this leg. Assumed that they are first timers. The last few sessions of cycling training helps in building the endurance for this race.
Transition 2
  • 03m 6s
Comments:

Was not able to locate my row number. The only print the numbers on one side. I had to search around for my row for a while.
What would you do differently?:

Orientate myself well with the layout.
Run
  • 31m 19s
  • 5 kms
  • 06m 16s  min/km
Comments:

I tried to increase my running pace along the last 1km and sprint to the finishing when I start to see the finishing line.
Post race
Warm down:

Didn't do much to warm down. It was a super hot day. I just want to get out of the sun.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

The sun and not enough training on the run.

Event comments:

The placement of the drink station along the running route should be have been reconsidered. As a result of wrong decision, it was located at a slippery path of the running route causing the guy running in front of me to slip and fall.
