Total Time = 1h 19m 29s
Overall Rank = 135/354
Age Group = F 25-29
Age Group Rank = 3/14
Pre-race routine:

Set up transition, felt water temp (it felt so warm!), did some stretching. Had a packet of sport beans.
Event warmup:

None. it was too cold!
Swim
  • 05m 15s
  • 250 meters
  • 02m 06s / 100 meters
Comments:

Okay swim. started good, felt okay, pool got *really* congested. spent the last 75-100m stuck behind a ton of people.
What would you do differently?:

I could've swum faster but honestly I don't think it would've made a difference given the pool congestion. I went as fast as I could given the circumstances.
Transition 1
  • 01m 48s
Comments:

Good transition. a little slow due to digging out a shirt (so cold!) but went well.
What would you do differently?:

lay out a shirt just in case I want it.
Bike
  • 40m 26s
  • 12.42 miles
  • 18.43 mile/hr
Comments:

easy course. when on the main road people weren't good about keeping to the right so it was a bit annoying to pass them--sometimes I had to go around the cones into the car lane (scary!) but I always made sure there were no cars first. Lots of passing on my part, these "hills" are so easy!! :)
Transition 2
  • 01m 12s
Run
  • 30m 46s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 09m 53s  min/mile
Comments:

felt good about the run. I actually sped up after about 1/3-1/2 way through. Was enjoying myself and the warmth from the run & sun. Took until mile 2 before I could feel my feet from the cold.
What would you do differently?:

Not sure. more bricks are always good, but I was going pretty much as fast as I could given the lack of feeling in my feet & toes.
Post race
Warm down:

Walking around, had a water & banana & 1/4 peanut butter sandwich.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of training. Should've been more dedicated to it.

Event comments:

Good race. I knew I wasn't going to beat my time from 2 years ago so I was able to just do my best and enjoy myself. The spectators were awesome (getting up at 7 on a cold Sunday just to cheer people on? wow!) I just had fun. and the best part? I placed in my age group!! I never in a million years thought that would happen. If I'd had any idea I would've stayed for my medal! How awesome is that? Tri #13, one of the most fun, *and* I place in my AG?!! w00t! I'm feeling great. this is the motivation I need to kick up my training so I can do well in Pittsburgh.
