Clearwater Beach Patrol Ocean Mile Swim Series #1 - Swim

The swim totally sucked today. I don't have very many nice things to say. OK, the race officials were organized and very nice. And it was sweet that they kept up the finish line and timing device for me as I finished Dead Freakin Last. On the other hand, if they had give us swim caps (who the hell has a swim race without caps???? they had them last time I did this race!), perhaps I might not have sucked so much. I spent most of the time fighting with my hair...it seemed to be constantly in my mouth dripping its disgusting salt water directly into my lungs or in my eyes making me zig zag to texas. I totally stopped in the water at least 4 times to take out my barrette and try to position it a better place....so far the best placement was behind my right ear, holding my hair out of breathing zone. Of course then I could only breathe on the right, so back to Texas again.

Ok, more nice. The T-shirt was awesome (uh, expect that it was long-sleeve. I look forward to winter to wear it!)

No swim caps???? That's ridiculous!
