Run
Comments: For my first 1/2 marathon, I am pleased with my run. I went out a bit too fast. The windy miles really beat me up, but I am proud that I was able to push through the final four miles to finish strong. What would you do differently?: Not develop blisters on my arches two days before the race. Post race
Warm down: A 2mi jog from the park where the race finished to the stadium where the race began with the top-5 runners of the race. What limited your ability to perform faster: Blisters on my arches. Wind on middle miles. Event comments: This race was excellent. I will definitely be back next year. I do wonder where my $50 prize for my 5th place finish went, however. I received my medal at the awards ceremony but was never presented with my prize. Last updated: 2007-05-03 12:00 AM

Ate salad, pasta, and meat sauce for dinner with a bagel for dessert. I went to bed at 9:00pm. I woke up at 3:30am (4 hours before the gun). I ate a serving of instant oatmeal at 4:00am. I showered and prepared for the race.
I arrived at the venue at 6:30am and taped the blisters on my feet.
I went to the bathroom a few times waiting for the race to begin. I stripped down to my race outfit and warmed up in my racing flats 15 minutes before the gun. I got to the line with five minutes until the gun and waited for the start.
