Swim
Comments: Couldnt be much happier with the swim. I was the second person overall out of the water. What would you do differently?: I could have eased off a little bit near the end to get my heart rate down. Transition 1
Comments: I took the time to put the HRM strap and HRM on. I finally found out what the shirt on wet body getting stuck is all about. Overall it was a good transition although I could have saved a little bit of time by skipping the HRM. I think it was worth it though to have pacing data and to be able to break the race down afterwards. What would you do differently?: Not much. Bike
Comments: Was very surprised I was able to average 19.7 mph. Did not feel that strong, though the numbers are way up from the last one I did in April. I went out of the transition 3rd and ended up getting passed by 3 people on the bike. At times my breathing was VERY hard, and other times I felt pretty relaxed. Tough finding a middle ground. What would you do differently?: Need to find a pace that I can sustain. I raced too hard or too easy ... it averaged out well though, 1.7 mph better than my last tri. Need to get my average up over 20 consistently to place in the money. Transition 2
Comments: Good transition. Shoe change, switching modes on the watch very good. What would you do differently?: Would have been nice to have a gel just to put something at the bottom of the stomach. Run
Comments: Couldnt be any happier about the run. I broke by previous 5K (at the end of a tri no less!) by 1:38. I knew Kenny was gonna catch me and put me away when I looked back and saw him when I was about a mile into it. What would you do differently?: Started my surge for that guy in front of me a little earlier! I had him in my sights the whole time waiting to make my move, but waited until I was too late. My TNT mentors were trying to pump me up to make the pass, but he heard them yelling and turned around and saw me and picked his pace up. Post race
Warm down: Walked around the parking lot did some stretching. Got busy on the buffet ... cookies, fig newtons, banana, HEED, jelly beans, peanuts oh my! What limited your ability to perform faster: Mental. My body was physically in the red zone, but I probably could have gutted it out a little bit more on the bike. Event comments: Best race yet for me! Last updated: 2007-05-04 12:00 AM

Ate a banana and a whole grain english muffin. Should skip the banana next time, think it had something to do with my stomach feeling a little uneasy late in the race. Washed it down with some water and gatorade, stick to fruit punch or grape. Orange no good on the stomach.
