Swim
Comments: This is my first indoor pool swim and it sucked. My time was fine, but I hated the 25 yard pool. We swam up and back in the same lane, and it was packed. Luckily the guy spread the swimmers out better right before I got in the pool. Otherwise, I would have been cramped like the first swimmers. I passed one guy and got passed once. My goggles got bumped and moved down my face slightly the last 100. What would you do differently?: Can't do much more than I did Transition 1
Comments: Seemed much faster this time than previous T1 transitions. I'm glad I used a loose fitting shirt instead of my bike shirt. It was much easier to get on. Everything was laid out pretty well. What would you do differently?: I tried to put my race belt and number in my shorts, but it was pinching me too much. Might try doing this eventually, but I didn't lose any time by putting it on in T2. It did take a second to lock into my pedals, so maybe I should focus on having my left pedal down instead of up. I ended up having to latch both at the same time. Bike
Comments: Pretty windy in parts, especially on the way back. However, I still maintained an avg of 19 mph which is a pr. I taped a gu pack to my frame and ate it 3 miles out from the finish. Worked real good. What would you do differently?: Just work on my speed. However, I'm real happy with my average speed. Transition 2
Comments: Not bad..I felt like I got out of the bike gear and into run gear pretty well. What would you do differently?: Can't think of anything. Just practice more. Probably could have shaved up a couple seconds. Run
Comments: I timed my average at 8 minute miles. My legs were a little tight the first .5 mile, but I was able to open up my stride pretty well afterwards. I had a good conversational pace, and then tried to go with a negative split What would you do differently?: Probably push harder the last .25 mile. I'm not sure how much faster I would have been, but I think I could have squeezed out a little more. Post race
Warm down: walk around What limited your ability to perform faster: Nothing really... just need to keep up with training Event comments: Dallas Athletes event... always a good job. Last updated: 2007-05-04 12:00 AM
