Overall Rank = 366/430
Age Group = Women 25-29
Age Group Rank = 30/31
Pre-race routine:

Did not sleep well before hand. Got up at 3:30am because it was going to take us at least an hour to get to the race site. Arrived at about 5:40 which was in time to get us decent parking. Forgot to bring sandals for before the tri (oh well).
Event warmup:

Didn't warm up much. Went in the lake to check water temp and to get my bright pink swim cap on though.
Swim
  • 18m 38s
  • 528 yards
  • 03m 32s / 100 yards
Comments:

Goggles broke, then fogged up. Bad day for the goggle issue. Did about half freestyle and half breaststroke. Folks were doing all sorts of strokes, and I managed to pass a few people despite my delayed start.
What would you do differently?:

get goggle de-fogger
Transition 1
  • 05m 20s
Comments:

didn't have my shoes preclipped. Long transition because I was putting on sunscreen and trying to get socks on wet feet.
Bike
  • 50m 42s
  • 13 miles
  • 15.38 mile/hr
Comments:

I could have gone faster on the bike, but I was afraid of completely tanking on the run. My tri suit sucked on the bike.....oh holy painful.
What would you do differently?:

Don't wear thick running socks with cycling shoes....ouch. Get aerobars to save wrists. Consume something before biking
Transition 2
  • 02m 50s
Comments:

Better transition, even though I had to tie my running shoes. Consumed GU on the way.
What would you do differently?:

Have a bucket to sit on to put shoes on
Run
  • 46m 12s
  • 3 miles
  • 15m 24s  min/mile
Comments:

Walked most of it. My muscles were sore from ribcage to feet (all on the anterior side of my body). Knee wasn't doing to well, and I was exhausted. I ended up getting a pain in the front of my upper thigh/pelvis that felt like a very pissed off tendon.

Sprinted the last 200m with the announcer having time to say my name, my novice status/age group, and city, and commenting about pushing it at the end. Yay!!!
What would you do differently?:

Train harder. I did everything right at that moment of time, but I really need to do brick workouts and work on the running. It's my weakest sport!
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around, got out of my tri suit into comfy pants and sports bra. Had to bring back my timing chip since I put it on my RoadID instead of using their ankle band (I was paranoid that their velcro would fail!).

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Undertraining, undersleeping, improper nutrition, probably in that order. Well, the swim was because of the goggles, but the run was mostly undertraining.

Event comments:

Awesome race, completely supportive of every racer. I'll be doing this again if I still live in the area.
