Pre-race routine:

Woke up had a descent quiet time, had a tough time eating wasn't hungry at all. choked down a pancake PBNJ and had two cups of coffee and e-caps and vitamin
Event warmup:

way too rushed, bearly had enough time to set up didn't get shoes locked in to bike
Swim
  • 12m 48s
  • 1094 yards
  • 01m 10s / 100 yards
Comments:

Swim was fun - short and fast. I got a descent draft with a guy who was on a relay but his pace was consistent so I kept pulling along side of him. The water was not very clear so it was also tough to stay directly behind him. The vasa training paid off. No real arm fatigue at all. almost a full minute faster than last year
What would you do differently?:

Push a little harder and draft a little better
Transition 1
  • 01m 56s
Comments:

didn't get to place shoes on the pedal before the race so I had to put them on in T1. Horrible. took forever.
What would you do differently?:

Put shoes on pedal
Bike
  • 1h 04m 45s
  • 24.85 miles
  • 23.03 mile/hr
Comments:

Felt fine, had a slight hip cramp through the last half of the ride. Really enjoyed the course. good rollers nothing crazy but enough to keep in interesting. I like out and back courses. there were more cars this year then last, none had an impact but they were there. Faster by 30 sec from last year
What would you do differently?:

push a little harder, try to get some longer rides in
Transition 2
  • 00m 54s
Comments:

Need to be able to get shoes on with out hands. Use more vaseline!!!!
Run
  • 38m 55s
  • 6 miles
  • 06m 29s  min/mile
Comments:

felt surprisingly strong should have pushed a little more. had more in the tank than I thought that I would
What would you do differently?:

Push
Post race
Warm down:

Ran out to find Justin, Travis, and the skipper. Jogged probably another 2-3 miles

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Training consistency and volume

Event comments:

I liked the small feel to the race. It was fun and I'd recommend it to anyone.
