Event warmup:

Just waiting around for it to start.
Swim
  • 34m 59s
  • 1640 yards
  • 02m 08s / 100 yards
Comments:

I haven't been swimming much at all the past couple of months due to some shoulder pain. I actually thought my time was going to be worse. My navigation was horrible. I think I swam and few extra hundred yards.
Transition 1
  • 03m 8s
Comments:

Had a little trouble getting my wetsuit off, especially over the timing chip on my ankle. It was also the first time I have used this wetsuit and it was a little tight, but I have gained some weight too.
Bike
  • 1h 07m 23s
  • 24.85 miles
  • 22.13 mile/hr
Comments:

I was happy with the bike leg. I thought for sure I was closer to a 1:15 time. I was slower going up the small hill but passed everyone going down it. It's interesting actually, it seems that most people use the down hill as rest time. I usually just try to go as fast as I can.
Transition 2
  • 01m 46s
Comments:

What can I say.....not an extremely bad time......could have been better...
Run
  • 58m 23s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 09m 24s  min/mile
Comments:

I knew from last year that I needed to be fueled up for this leg, because they only provided water. Well it was the same this year and I didn't necessarily run out of gas it was just hot and I was tired. I knew when I hit the first mile at over 9 minutes this was going to be a less than stellar run.
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

I haven't been training much lately, because of the demands of my job. I signed up for it, so I had to do it and I knew it wasn't going to be a good one for me. I would have been better suited for the sprint distance. Oh well, it was fun none the less.

Event comments:

I am a little mystified again by the fact that this race company does not provide anything but water during the race. We pay the same amount as the other races. I told myself last year that I wasn't going to participate, but ended up doing it because the Tribute tri was canceled. I still had a good time, just seems a little off.
