Pre-race routine:

Easy fun Friday am light breakfast of oatmeal, chicken breast for lunch and we made a couple of pizza's for an early dinner PMS and a Pepperoni Sausage. Saturday am some fig newtons and part of a bananna 2 hrs before race time some gatorade, water and a gu just prior to the start.
Event warmup:

1.25 around the track next to the start. I did 3 100 yard sprints and drank about 20oz of water just prior to the start

Comments:

It was more challenging than I remmebered. I had a goal of sub 50 but feel great about how I managed the course and myself.
What would you do differently?:

More intervals on a regular basis. Maybe up the pace on the way out by like 1 or 2 percent.

Warm down:

I got the camera and took pictures of Pam and some others finishing, drank some coffee had a cookie.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

My old age and declining health. LOL

Event comments:

LV Running teams does a good job. I wish that the valley had a better/larger runnig community.

Course: The course had a lot more elevation than I remembered. Pam's GPS said a little over 1,200 ft incline to the turn. Last year when we did this I did it as an easy training run before Honu.
