Run
Comments: Felt good for the first half, then around the 11K marker, felt some achilles twinges. Up until then, had been running the to the water stations and walking for about 30 seconds until water/powerade was consumer. After the twinges, just kept running/walking. Hooked up with a guy was donig his first and help with him for the last 3k and we got each other through the last 2k on the run. What would you do differently?: Not sure what I could have done differently. Not much you can do when the Achilles starts to give you signs. Did listen to my body this time and walked when the signs started. Post race
Warm down: A little light stretching. A nice hot shower in the club house and then upstairs to the food tables. Great food. No medal due to medals being lost, but will get one in the mail. What limited your ability to perform faster: Achilles stress. Event comments: Great race with ton's of support and volunteers, from the parking through to the food, everything was first class. 10 minute walk from the parking field to the club house. Wandered the club house, found my locker and dropped off all my stuff. Had a cup of Tim's coffee at the club house and then basically sat around until about 20 minutes to start time.
Nice easy 2k run in the golf course, along the first hold and the second hole.
