Swim
Comments: This was a nice swim, some surf to start, but there were some fast people in my wave. Not mush to report about the course, except that coming in, at an angle to shore, was disconcerting, I kept wanting to swim straight in Time includes the monstrous run in the sand to get to T1 Transition 1
Comments: helluva long run in the sand to get here Bike
Comments: I was very pleased with this bike. I was passing people -- PASSING people! That's new to me. I mean, a lot. I was basically using the bike training I did to leave it all on the bike course. At one point I was jockeying back and forth with a woman, I knew she was on her first loop of the Oly course, I on the second. When we came to the go straight and finish or go right and contnue point, she went straight. She slowed down. She looked at me. She said "did you do one loop or two?" "Two," I said, as she turned around to finish. Whoops. Pays to look at the course map. What would you do differently?: nothing, totally pleased, and it made my race. Transition 2
Run
Comments: ouch. I mean, OUCH. I left a lot on the bike. I had been debating whetehr to do this, since I han't been running much. My buddy Mike said "do it and let it remind you how much work you need to do for IMAZ." So I did. Let's just say i have a lot of work to do. Although I did negative split the run, which was another small victory. Post race
Event comments: This is a nice, low key, flat Oly. Not sure I'll come back next year, but I will be back Last updated: 2007-05-11 12:00 AM
