![]() Run
Comments: Had a GREAT run, very happy with my time and my placing in my age group. Felt great from start to finish. I started at the front this time. Got off to a fast start, when I got to the one km mark I checked my time and I was at 3:58sec I had to do a double take to see if that was the right time, the adrenelan must have been high. I slowed down after that but at the 5km mark my split time was still good 22:26sec. After that I slowed down, when I got to the 8km mark I tried to push myself a bit more. I had a little bit left and I was still able to sprint the last 100m to the finish line. My second split time was 23.41sec. I had a fast time so I checked the field to see if the leaders from this year had a faster time but they didn't. The winner from last year was basically the same time as this year. I was thinking that it was just a faster course this year but it seems like it wasn't. What would you do differently?: Nothing really to do with my run, maybe I could have worn shorts but at some places near the water it was cooler and the pants were nice. ![]() Post race
Warm down: Nothing. Went for some water and went to look for Nancy and the kids. What limited your ability to perform faster: n/a Event comments: If I do the 10k next year I do not have to leave so early, maybe leave the house around 5:00ish. Start near the front again. Overall a very good day. I will have a hard time next year beating this time. Last updated: 2007-05-12 12:00 AM

It was a late race, just like last year. Had a normal day. Did not do too much, tried to stay relaxed. Left the house around 4:45pm this year Nancy came with me, to the start.
Not much of a warm up, went for a very small run. Just to loosen up.
