Swim
Comments: I've swam faster, but my goal was not to push it too hard, I basically wanted to save myself for the bike What would you do differently?: train some more Transition 1
Comments: This transition included a .1 mile run from the pool. I had a little trouble putting on my skull cap, my helmet was also stuck in my aero bars. Overall I felt like I did ok here. Bike
Comments: I wanted to do 21mph and succeeded. However I started to cramp up a bit on the last hill. What would you do differently?: maybe take some salt pills prior to the race? I need a new bike!! Transition 2
Comments: by now my calves were cramping real bad What would you do differently?: I don't know Run
Comments: my calves cramped for the first 1/2 mile, so I basically had to try and run like a duck, lol. Once my legs adjusted to running, I really dug deep, with a goal of finishing the run in under 26 minutes. This was my best 5K performance in a triathlon. What would you do differently?: I really need to run in the off season, 10 -13 miles a week just doesn't cut it. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: not training enough for the run, and my bike. Event comments: My goal was to place in the top 3 in the Clydesdale division. I came in 2nd. I might have done a little better if I kept up my training since completing the 5430 long course. However I improved my time by 5 minutes from last year, so all in all, it was a good race Last updated: 2007-05-13 12:00 AM

woke up at 7:00 AM, ate a bagel. I got to the transition area by 7:50 and was able to find a good spot close to the bike exit.
I wasn't scheduled to swim until the final heat, so I went upstairs into the parker rec gym, stretched out and rode a spinner bike.
