I actually did some workup this time.
I ran on the dam for about 5 min.
Then I got into the water and swam maybe 100m or so...

I had trained so much more for the swim this time, I figured
I would have an easier go, but no such luck.

Having never swam laps before March, I guess I just need to not get
so down but I was expecting better.
What would you do differently?:

I think nothing can be helped except more experience/training.

Fairly decent, trying to get to the transition area via some gravel was a little painful but not so bad.
I did have a little trouble with my helmet - I had the chin strap fastened, and I could not get it unfastened...

I also took off my watch and put on my garmin 205.
What would you do differently?:

Have chin strap unfastened.
Have garmin on wrist from start instead of wearing watch and swapping.

Geez, I hate my bike. I really was expecting better on this "mostly" flat course (compared to The Rookie). I just think my heavy mountain bike
just is not going to allow me to improve much.
What would you do differently?:

Get a stinkin' new bike already! :)
