Pre-race routine:

Nothing special - worked all day, had supper, headed to the race.
Event warmup:

About 15' riding around the general area. Some pickups, some climbs, just to get the HR up and ready to go. Staged and got my number.

Comments:

First ever TT - net elevation loss going out and a tailwind. Passed one rider (1' intervals) going out. At the turnaround, I saw the eventual winner (started last) was about 1' behind (started 3' behind me) and kept expecting him to pass me. Eventually, on the last hill he came by and put about 10" on me before crossing the finish line.
What would you do differently?:

Warm up more
Post race
Warm down:

Just a few minutes spinning and then headed home.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

More time in the saddle.

Event comments:

This is a series being put on by the cycling club - a race every three weeks so it should be fun to see how I progress throughout the season.
