Swim
Comments: At the start, there were so many people trying to get ahead that I just said the hell with it and went around the side. I sprinted ahead and passed all but one person by the time the swim was over. What would you do differently?: Start outside instead of in the middle. Transition 1
Comments: My T1 sucked. Took a gel...yes I'm that crazy. But then, my helmet liner fell out and I had to put it back in. Then I put it in over the straps so I then had to take it back out and reattach. GRRR. I was fourth coming out of transition. What would you do differently?: New helmet. Bike
Comments: I didn't lose any places here but didn't gain any either. I just hammered as hard as I could. Going out with the tailwind I was hitting 24 and 25, but coming back I never went faster than 21. I almost caught the third place guy on the bike, but some traffic kept me from pulling ahead. I saw Trixie all three times on the course, and Terri on all three loops as well. Trix seemed to be the same distance behind me each time. Fun bike though, my heart rate never came down and my breathing was crazy the whole time! What would you do differently?: Nothin. Supersprint. No pace. Transition 2
Comments: Just throw and go on this one. Came in fourth, went out fourth. What would you do differently?: Nothin. Perfect. Run
Comments: This was fun. It was VERY challenging too. As I came out of T2 onto the beach, I was in fourth place. I immediately passed the third place guy. About three quarters of the way to the turnaround, a really fast guy passed me. Back to fourth. As I went around the turnaround, I saw Trix in the distance. Gave her a whoop whoop as I passed by in the other direction. She was less than 2 minutes behind me! What a way to make up time in the bike!! A little while later, I noticed I was catching the third place guy. So I redlined it. Passed him by but thought he was on my heels. I saw Terri just starting the run and she put her hand out to slap. I could barely reach over, I was in full sprint mode, but I slapped her hand and she whoopwhooped. I just ran as hard as I could to the finish and wound up 10 seconds ahead. Age group win by 5 minutes. Overall podium finish!! Yay! What would you do differently?: Nothing. Post race
Warm down: Drank some water and waited for Trixie to come in. Saw a friend of mine there from Orlando and chatted. Walked down to watch Terri finish. Cheered her to the finish line. Took some pictures. Fun times!! What limited your ability to perform faster: Sand maybe? My helmet? Event comments: This was a lot of fun. OK, so I just did an Ironman and my next race was a supersprint, but that's ok...it was my first supersprint! I gotta tell ya...these things are hard. You go balls-to-the-wall for 100% of the race, no break, no breathing time, nothing. Just 110% effort from start to finish. It was so much fun though. Last updated: 2007-05-21 12:00 AM

I drank mega amounts of energy drink! Had part of a pop-tart, loaded up the bikes, and drove a mile to the race site.
None. Just set up and got ready.
