Swim
Comments: These swims are always insane.. short distance, everyone goes all out. The pack never thinned out. I got a knock to the back of the head, and a ton of leg and butt grabs. I had to swim around a few people. I navigated this one spot on, even though it was difficult to see when we turned into the sun. What would you do differently?: More speed work in the water. Won't help at loger distances as much, but here it would have done wonders. Transition 1
Comments: This was a weird, long, thin transition, on a hill. I was not at an optimal location. My times both show consistancy based on location, but a bit on the slow side. What would you do differently?: Practice these more.. something I never do. Bike
Comments: This was my first time riding anything other than an 11/23 on my bike. Not in practice, not in a race. I was curious on what to expect, and for the most part was happy with it. The hills were noticably easier to climb. The only problem is that I ran out of gears going down hill. The 12 was not enough for me. I thing there is such a thing as an 11/25. If so, I think that will be the ticket for me. Ride went well. I pretty much just thought to myself.. 'give it time. You'll get your legs'.. and I did. Patience is key sometimes. I rode fairly hard, but still felt that I was not anywhere close to what I could do. I felt the influence of the lack of sleep, and going out on the town out there on the course. It was obvious to me. I had one bottle of Heed, and drank half of it. I should have drank a little bit more than I did. Otherwise, all went well. What would you do differently?: Get some more experience on my 12/25 cassette and work that to my advantage. I am still conditioned to my 11/23. Transition 2
Comments: ok, but slow. What would you do differently?: Learn to take feet out of shoes while on the bike. This cost me time. Run
Comments: Good run. Same as the bike, I did not feel fully powered out there. What would you do differently?: Not stay out until 6 in the morning with my Detroit buds on Thursday and then get little sleep after that to catch up on Friday.. Other than that, nothing. It went ok. I just know I can do better. Post race
Warm down: Hung out with everyone, and had a good time. Went to the BBQ joint everyone talked about and it was good stuff for sure. What limited your ability to perform faster: alcohol, the clock, 6 am deadlines. Friends. Event comments: As usual, tri the parks did a great job here. Highly recommended, and will be a repeat on my schedule. Was good talking to the BT'ers that I met. Last updated: 2007-05-21 12:00 AM

After a few days of sleep depravation and good times, I went into this race wanting more than I was physically able to give. I knew that though, so I just did what I could. Woke early and drove to the site. Really close to Atlanta and very convienient. Got there, and got to Transition. Drank an Ensure, and ate some Mini Wheats.. no milk.
No real warmup other than a swim to loosen up. Water felt good.
