What would you do differently?: Use my legs. Found that my legs float in a full body wet suit, which made it easy to forget about my legs. Transition 1
Comments: Stripped upper body from wet suit; ran to bike; stripped remaining suit; shirt on (two layers); helmet and sunglasses on; socks on; shoes on; camel back on; then off What would you do differently?: If warmer, I would have had my shirt on beneath my wet suit; I would not have warn socks; I would not have strapped on the camel back. Bike
Comments: Amazing how I can carry an 18mph average, yet others passed me by as though I were parked. What would you do differently?: Train harder. Transition 2
Comments: Best time was 30 seconds. Run
Comments: Very happy with my pace. I'd only tried running after the bike once or twice before. Felt pretty good. Took approx 1 mile to find my legs. Into mile 3 others were passing me and they sounded like they were about to keel over. I wasn't pushing myself near that hard. I was amazed with their will to push on. What would you do differently?: Train harder. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: First experience, so paced myself. Event comments: Difficult to rate given this is my first. Race was only late due to nasty storms that didn't let up until an hour before the race was supposed to start. Race start was only 20 minutes late. Last updated: 2007-05-21 12:00 AM
