Comments: Even through this is a personal worst 1/2 marathon the race went exactly as I planned so I have nothing to complain about. I knew before the race that my training is not even close to previous years at this point in the season. My priority race is in October instead of August (as in years past) which has caused me to still be in phase one training - long, slow distance without speed work, so it all makes sense. I set out to keep in HR zone 3 up to mile 9 and then stay in the low end of HR zone 4 from 9 - 10 and after that throw HR out the window and run to the end. My hydration / nutrition plan went exctly as planned - one fuel belt bottle per 3.25 miles and one gel at mile 5 qand again at mile 10. What would you do differently?: Nothing. My prerace plan had me finishing at 1:58 so I nailed the plan. Plan the race and race the plan. Post race
