Swim
Comments: Sucked as usual. Transition 1
Comments: I haven't left my shoes on the bike in awhile. It was fine. Bike
Comments: I love this course!! Totally flat, no turns, fast! I felt sluggish in the beginning and was only going about 18. Picked it up at the turn around and pushed it harder. I felt really good about the ride. Only had one water bottle, and drank about half. What would you do differently?: Push harder earlier. Transition 2
Comments: The transition are was very roomy, I almost had the rack to myself. Had to put socks on. I saw Sue in here, and my friend Jay, too. Said hi and stuff. Run
Comments: First mile was around 8:30, I think. Next mile was slower, then I picked it up again. I was really working...I was grimacing and huffing and puffing and trying my hardest, and I loved it!! I forgot what it feels like to be able to race at the pace and intensity. Sprints are FUN! I focused on my posture, form, and breathing. Whoop-whooped at everyone I knew. I couldn't whoop-whoop during the second half...was going too hard. :) As I was about to cross the finish line, someone yelled out "Tater Tots"! I don't know who it was, but it was funny. Post race
Warm down: Hung out for the awards, then went to Denny's with Jeff, Sue, Wendi, Jeff P, and Brian. Then we went to the Rainbow River and floated in tubes for 4 hours. I was happy to see so many people I knew for my lst FL race...Jay, Ken, Tracey, Jill, Gymboree Girl, and all the Bters. Event comments: I love this race. I have done this course about 4 times. It's my favorite. I am going to try my hardest to be back in FL for the nest one on June 30th. Last updated: 2007-05-26 12:00 AM
