Comments:

Well, my boyfriend's dad is the director of this race, so it goes in my schedule every year. This is a mighty hilly course, and I had planned to run this at an 8:00 pace, but the warm conditions kept me off that goal since I started feeling unmanageably hot after the first 2.5 miles. The winner of my age group was also second overall, so I ended up with a first place AG award.
What would you do differently?:

Start behind Tom (some random guy who does almost every road race I do, and beats me every time). I'm gaining on him though.
Post race
Warm down:

Felt very dehydrated so drank all the water I could find. Ate some food. Stretched maybe?

What limited your ability to perform faster:

The heat
Frickin high pollen count

Event comments:

Great "small town" race for a good cause. There is a nice cookout afterwards and decent awards. And there are actual bathrooms here instead of port-o-potties, so that's always a bonus in my book.
