Run
Comments: This is the longest run I have ever done and I had some serious reservations whether I could do it. I tried to keep a nice easy pace throughout the race just to make it. I felt pretty comfortable and calm the entire run. I could not be happier here. I had 3 goals coming in: just to finish, try and finish without having to walk, and to finish under 2.5 hours. I was able to do all three! What would you do differently?: I pushed the last 2 miles and I think I should have waited a bit longer. I was pretty tried with about 1/2 mile to go. Post race
Warm down: Easy walk to recover then head to the food and drinks. What limited your ability to perform faster: Time, I just need more running time to bring up the pace. Event comments: I had a lot of inspiration to do well here and it was weighing heavy on my mind throughout the race. My mother is going through cancer treatments and one of my brother had passed away just 2 weeks before. By the time I crossed the finish line I alomost broke into tears just from the accomplishment and that I wanted to complete this for them. Last updated: 2007-05-29 12:00 AM
